So, this is a quick blog, I wanted to share with you the requirements of my course and where I am going to start.
The requirements for my yoga teacher training course:
“We ask for a minimum of 3 years regular and consistent yoga practice, preferably through class attendance. You will also require a regular yoga teacher who can provide a reference to support your application. In addition, some element of self-practice is viewed very favourably.”
So I have a lot of work to do! I shall be keeping a diary of my self-practice online via my blog. I have been practising yoga on and off since I was 18 and I am hoping to keep track of my practice for a year they will see my dedication and allow me onto the course. I don’t actually go to yoga classes and with this odd time, I am not sure when this will be applicable to do so. In January I will start to attend a weekly yoga class, so that gives me this year to look into a teacher I feel comfortable with.
Plan of Action:

– Explore set days and times I enjoy doing yoga and build them into my schedule.
– Whilst doing this keep my online diary up-to-date.
– Read: The Eight Limbs of Yoga: A Handbook for Living Yoga Philosophy – Stuart Ray Et Al
October:
– Keep at the yoga schedule I have implemented
– Explore the practice of the eight limbs of yoga
– Keep up my diary entries
– Read: The Three Gunas – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
November:
– Keep at the yoga schedule I have implemented
– Start to explore different styles of yoga with the use of practice
– Keep up my diary entries
– Research yoga schools and teachers in my area
– Read: Science of Yoga: Understanding the Anatomy and Physiology to Perfect your Practice – Ann Swanson
December:
– Keep at the yoga schedule I have implemented
– Implement what I have learnt from reading the science of yoga
– Keep up my diary entries
– Research yoga schools and teachers in my area
– Read: Light on Yoga – B.K.S. Iyengar
January:
– Keep at the yoga schedule I have implemented
– Keep up my diary entries
– Embark on classes
– Read: Teaching Yoga: Exploring the Teacher-Student Relationship – Donna Farhi
– Review current path and path for the year
Once January’s goals have been completed I will then reassess and make a plan for the rest of the year. Well, that is my plan for my requirements and I am looking forward to keeping my yoga diaries and marking my journey with blog posts and reflective pieces, seeing where I have come from and what space I am in on that day.
Have an amazing day!
Namaste
